This social housing project comprises nine apartment blocks, every block housing 18 apartments, each measuring 40m2.

Just under 3 000 concrete roof tiles were used on these hipped roofs. They were pitched at 25˚ and the total roof area covered was 330m2.

Although social housing is at the lower end of the housing market, the use of concrete roof tiles on apartment blocks such as these add aesthetic diversity to what would otherwise appear monolithic and dull.

The construction of the roofing was well executed yielding a roofing profile which is clean and neat. Moreover, they add a level of homeliness which gives the flat dwellers a sense of pride of ownership.
